Seaford & the Seven Sisters - Landscape Trip December 6th

For those interested in joining us on our merry little jaunt to the South Coast on Sunday December 6th here's a rough itinerary for the day.

06:45 - 07:00 Arrive

Seaford Head Car park.

Meet at the public car park at Seaford Head.

Allow roughly 2 1/2 hours for the drive from Milton Keynes to Seaford.

Post Code - BN25 4AR
OS grid reference - TV 50485 98042
Map Coordinates - N 50.762548 E 0.132311

07:15 - 09:45 Sunrise

Seaford Coastguard Cottages/Hope Gap.

Sunrise is around 07:45 but we'll want to get into position in good time, especially if last Sunday's sunrise is anything to go by. The colour started to develop well before the sun actually broke the horizon.

Once the sun has actually risen we'll spend the next 2 1/2 hours to explore Hope Gap & Seaford Head.

High tide coincides with sunrise so with a little bit of luck we should be able to catch a few shots as the tide recedes.

10:00 - 11:00 Breakfast

the Pavilion Cafe, Seaford.

(Opposite Morrisons, Dane Road, Seaford, BN25 1DJ)
We'll take a break for a full English breakfast at the Pavilion Cafe, but be warned they only accept cash, no credit/debit cards.

11:00 - 14:00 Midday.

Burling Gap & the Belle Tout Lighthouse

From Seaford we'll head over to Burling Gap and take a short walk up to the Belle Tout Lighthouse and a reverse view of the Seven Sisters, taking in the view back towards Seaford.

(Please note I'm not planning on taking a break for lunch so if you think you'll get hungry during the day then you might like to bring a packed lunch & you can dig in when you feel like.)

14:30 - 16:30 Sunset

Seaford Coastguard Cottages/Hope Gap.

We'll return to Seaford head & Hope Gap to explore the area with the light coming from a different direction. Sunset is around 15:57 but hopefully the colour will last well beyond that time, and we may even be able to shoot into the Blue hour.

So that's the basic plan, now we just gotta hope that we get some decent weather & light.

Peak District Landscape Workshop - Sunday November 1st

For those interested in joining us on our merry little jaunt to the Peak District on Sunday November 1st here's a rough itinerary for the day.

06:00 - 06:15 ARrive Curbar Edge.

Meet at the National Trust car park at Curbar Edge.
OS grid reference SK 26243 74724. East: 426243 North: 374724.

06:15 - 08:30 Sunrise on Curbar Edge.

Sunrise is around 07:06 but we'll want to get onto the edge in good time, especially if last Sunday's sunrise is anything to go by. The colour started to develop a good hour before the sun actually broke the horizon.
Once the sun has actually risen we'll spend the next hour & a half to explore more of the edge before we head back to the cars to head to Grindleford.

09:00 - 10:00 Breakfast at Grindleford Station Cafe

(Station Approach, Upper Padley, Grindleford, S32 2JA)
We'll take a break for a good hearty breakfast at the famous Grindleford Station Cafe, some would say infamous!

10:00 - 13:30 Autumn Colours of Padley Gorge.

Staying in Grindleford we'll take the short walk from the cafe over the bridge over the railway and head towards the stone style that leads through to Yanncliff Wood & Padley Gorge. Less than a mile in length we'll take the rest of the morning and into the afternoon to explore this fantastic location.

(Please note I'm not planning on taking a break for lunch so if you think you'll get hungry during the day then you might like to bring a packed lunch & you can dig in when you feel like, though I think the breakfast will see you through until dinner time!)

14:00 - 17:00 Sunset at Stanage Edge.

From Grindleford we'll take a short drive over to Stanage Edge, which will be our final destination of the day. There's a choice of four parking locations depending on how busy the first location is when we get there, so we'll very much play that by ear on the day.
The edge itself is around 4 miles long so we won't be exploring it all on this occasion but each of the parking places offer access to different parts of the edge and therefore different views.

So that's the basic plan, now we just gotta hope that we get some decent weather & light.
