News - Report: Practical Session - Christmas Special @ Great Linford
![]()
15 December 2011
The evening was well attended and the church, churchyard and 4 models provided plenty of opportunities for a range of practical activity. Members seemed to enjoy the opportunities that the varied background environment offered for images over our regular venue. For members inside the church it was a good opportunity to share techniques on using Speedlight Flash or High ISOs to get portrait or detail images, inside a low light environment. I certainly learnt more about flash lighting as a result. The Bell room, Staircases and even the porch were put to good use as a backdrop.
Outside some members used the floodlight to take images of the church and churchyard and a small group perfected skills of light painting, producing some colourful and unusual images. A big thank-you to our models, Emma, Gen, Sam and Sarah who provided their time for images, don’t disappoint them! Many thanks to Simon for taking the time to bring and setting up the new set of club lights, to Oswin for helping me out with the administration and finally to Santok for helping me provide cups of tea towards the end of the evening. Stephen has a list of which model you photographed so please get separate CDs for each model to Stephen within the next 10 days.
