News - Report: Annual Quiz Evening
![]()
5 January 2012
Once again big thanks must go to Iain Morrison for setting the questions once again, I think you might have excelled yourself this year! The quiz night is an annual occurance and is normally the first night back after the Christmas break.
A good number of members turned out to make this a really interesting evening, we even saw a new face in the crowd! The evening started out with 4 teams of 6 members but by the time the last question had been answered that number had grown to a total of 27 members.
The evening was split into two sections of four rounds each but rather than marking the individual rounds as in previous years Iain decided to ask all the questions for the first four rounds, score those questions and then continue with the second section, again marking all the questions at the end.
For those that might be interested the first four rounds were; Easy Does It, Famous Initials, The Year That Was 2011 and Approximately. This last round consisted of 5 questions which were nigh on impossible to answer, especially given some of the margins for leaway we were allowed in our answers!
The final four rounds were; General Knowledge 1, Making Connections, QI Style General Ignorance and finally Hard But Not Too Hard.
The final score was quite close and I would tell you what it was but I didn't make a note of the scores, except for the fact that our team won!
The evening was great fun and Iain did a tremendous job in setting a series of questions that pushed the limits of our general knowledge a little.
Thanks Iain, much appreciated.
